Developing Senior Tourism in Remote Regions (TOURAGE)

The population of elderly people over 65 years in Észak-Alföld Region  is 17%, which is average in the EU, but has a growing tendency. Due to this, Észak-Alföld Regional Development Agency (ÉARDA) and other Institutions pay attention to silver tourism.

The ÉARDA has more than 100 employees in 8 departments. ÉARDA has the necessary technical capacity and human resource to implement international projects. During the last 12 years of operation ÉARDA was involved in many different international project cooperations, established bilateral cooperation with partner regions, and participating in EU network activities. The Agency pays special attention to its development activities for demographic change, which was analyzed in an ESPON project called „SEMIGRA - Selective Migration and Unbalanced Gender Ratio in Rural Regions” and also in the CENTRAL EUROPE project „ADAPT2DC”, which is focusing on cost efficiency of public service delivery in lagging regions of Central Europe.
