Entrepreneurship Support Measures in Vidzeme Planning Region (Entrepreneurship in Vidzeme)

On 12 October, the Vidzeme Entrepreneurship Centre of Vidzeme Planning Region invites entrepreneurs, organisations representing entrepreneurs, local government specialists and other interested parties to the opening of the project "Entrepreneurship Support Measures in Vidzeme Planning Region" to get acquainted with the project activities planned for the next two and a half years, the aim of which is to develop the business environment of Vidzeme Planning Region.

The participants of the opening event will be introduced to the project activities, which includes, among other things, improvement of the abilities and knowledge of municipal business specialists, development of co-working/co-creation sites, promotion of regional recognition, mentoring of youth entrepreneurship, organization of product idea development marathons (hackathons) and networking events for entrepreneurs with educational and scientific institutions.

The representative of the project partner in Elverum Municipality will inform about the planned cooperation in the project between Latvia and Norway, while Evita Nedzvecka, Head of representative office in Norway at Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, will share the first steps in starting to export to Norway.

For better preparation regarding the project activities and getting inspired, Amanda Strīģele, Head of Cēsis co-creation house "Skola6", and Kristiāna Līdaka, Head of Valmiera co-creation workshop "Dare", will outline their experience in developing co-creation sites. Meanwhile, Līga Veca, Member of the Board of the Valmiera Development Agency, will share the experience of organizing hackathons, and Ilze Millere, Head of LAUTA, will talk about Limbaži Municipality' s support for entrepreneurs.

The project' s inaugural event will be held online (on ZOOM) on Tuesday, 12 October from 10 to 12 PM.

The project "Entrepreneurship Support Measures in Vidzeme Planning Region” (Entrepreneurship in Vidzeme) from 21 June, 2021 to 30 April, 2024 is implemented by the Vidzeme Entrepreneurship Center in cooperation with Elverum Municipality in Norway in the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation", which is co-financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA grants.
