The Vidzeme Planning Region is an active partner in international cooperation projects. The number of projects implemented over the years is measured in dozens and, including projects still in implementation, is already approaching a hundred.
International cooperation projects are implemented in various areas:
- strategic and territorial planning
- entrepreneurship and innovation environment;
- professional education;
- social security and health;
- culture and tourism;
- landscape protection and management;
- environment and energy;
- information technologies;
- development of public transport, including mobility in rural regions;
- environmental availability
- etc.
Within the framework of projects, the Vidzeme planning region cooperates with the countries of the Baltic Sea macro-region, the Eastern European countries of the European Union, as well as the countries of Central and Southern Europe.
Cooperation programs: Interreg Europe program, Estonia-Latvia program, Central Baltic Sea Region program, Baltic Sea Region program, Horizon 2020, Swedish Institute (SI), European Economic Area Instrument, Erasmus+, COSME, etc.
