Project objectives
The project aims to improve mobility in rural and remote regions by introducing the Rural Mobility Laboratory (RuMoLab) model. It promotes cooperation between municipalities, local communities and social innovation initiatives to jointly develop and implement sustainable, smart and user-centred mobility solutions.Activities
- Development and refinement of the RuMoLab (Rural Mobility Laboratory) model;
- Identification and engagement of stakeholders and local residents, and assessment of their needs;
- Conducting surveys and collecting data on mobility challenges in rural areas;
- Capacity-building training for municipalities, NGOs and service providers;
- Organisation of co-creation workshops (Challenge Labs) to develop mobility solutions;
- Testing and validation of the developed solutions in practice;
- Evaluation of results and further improvement of the model to ensure its adaptability to other regions.
Results
- A RuMoLab model developed and tested in practice as a methodological approach to mobility planning;
- New mobility solutions tailored to the needs of users in rural areas;
- Improved access to employment, education and services for local residents;
- Strengthened cooperation between national, regional and local-level institutions;
- Increased capacity of municipalities and organisations to plan and implement sustainable mobility solutions;
- Enhanced social inclusion, with particular support for vulnerable groups;
- A practical set of guidelines and tools for sustainable mobility development, designed for replication in other regions.

VPR budget: EUR 274,600.00 (80% ERDF funding – EUR 219,680.00; 20% national co-financing – EUR 54,920.00)
