Project objectives
To promote the availability of high-quality and diverse cultural offerings to the public and creativity in Vidzeme and to endorse the preservation and development of Vidzeme's cultural diversity.Activities
- Organize an open call for project proposals once per year, selecting grant recipients based on the quality of submitted projects and their relevance to the cultural development and heritage of the historical land of Vidzeme.
- Provide consultations and guidance to potential applicants on project application preparation, as well as on other program-related inquiries to ensure clarity and accessibility.
- Receive and review project applications to ensure compliance with program regulations, submission deadlines, and administrative requirements.
- Ensure the functioning of an independent panel of experts by selecting qualified evaluators, organizing panel meetings, and managing the overall evaluation process.
- Prepare and conclude grant agreements with selected project promoters in accordance with program guidelines and legal requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of supported projects by reviewing interim and final reports, monitoring financial compliance, and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Maintain transparent communication with the public by publishing all relevant tender documentation, evaluation results, and updates on supported project activities via the websites vidzeme.lv and balso.vidzeme.lv.
Results
- Supported implementation of cultural projects in the historical land of Vidzeme.
- People involved in the cultural process and events, both, Vidzeme residents and guests.
- Contribution to the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of Vidzeme – research, transmission, and popularization.
- Created new high-quality cultural products and services, preserving the characteristics and values characteristic of Vidzeme culture.
- Ensured the acquisition and effective use of new knowledge and creative skills.
- Projects have been implemented by promoting cooperation between various cultural institutions and representatives.
