- - Implementation the projects co-financed by the external sources within the fields of: economy, education, tourism, promotion, culture, environmental protection, innovations in cooperation with foreign partners from sister cities of Suwalki , Baltic Sea Region countries and others.

Implementation of the projects:
- - "TRANS-IN-FORM", Baltic Sea Region 2007-2013 Programme in cooperation with 10 other partners from the Baltic Sea Region,
•- „Improvement of Public Infrastructure of Industrial Areas in Lithuanian-Polish Cross-Border", together with Municipality of Alytus (Lt), within Lithuania-Poland 2007-2013 Programme,
Submitted joint application to the future projects:
- - "Public areas' arrangement to increase tourism attractiveness in the cross-border region", together with Municipality of Alytus, within Lithuania-Poland 2007-2013 Programme,
- - "The development of bicycle tourism infrastructure on Lithuanian-Polish-Russian border region" within the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Lithuania-Poland-Russia 2007-2013, with Czerniakhovsk Municipality, Gurievsk Municipality, Kaliningrad District, Russian Federation and Euroregion Niemen office, Marijampole (Lt),
- - "Improvement of public areas' infrastructure to increase tourism attractiveness in the cross-border region" with Czerniakhovsk Municipality, Kaliningrad District, Russian Federation within Cross-border Cooperation Programme Lithuania-Poland-Russia 2007-2013,
Participation in the activities witin the Innovation Circle Netowork;
Cooperation with sister cities of Suwalki: Grande-Synthe (Fr), Waren (Ge), Võru (Ee), Notodden (No), Alytus, Marijampole (Lt) and others like: Grodno (By), Krasnoznamensk, Kaliningrad District, Amata Municipality (LV) and others in the form of e.g.: youth exchange, exchange of experiences in health care systems, study visits, participation in joint sport activities, participation in cultural events, etc.
